Digital Marketing Intern

The Digital Marketing Intern is a learning-focused, entry-level position that provides hands-on experience in various aspects of digital marketing within a fast-paced agency environment. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop foundational skills in areas such as social media management, content creation, SEO, paid advertising, and data analysis. The intern will work under the supervision of senior team members, gaining valuable exposure to real-world digital marketing campaigns.

Scope of Work

  • Assist the digital marketing team in executing campaigns across various platforms.

  • Support day-to-day marketing activities, including content creation, social media posting, and performance tracking.

  • Develop a foundational understanding of digital marketing strategies and tools.

Roles and Responsibilities

Content Creation & Curation

  • Assist in creating social media posts (images, captions, and videos) using tools like Canva or other design platforms.

  • Write blog posts, social media updates, and newsletters under supervision.

  • Curate relevant industry content to share on agency or client social media profiles.

  • Assist in creating and editing short video content for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

Social Media Management

  • Help schedule and post content across social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter using scheduling tools (e.g., Buffer, Hootsuite).

  • Monitor comments, messages, and engagement on social media platforms and flag issues or inquiries.

  • Participate in social listening and reporting trends or topics that may be relevant for content creation.

SEO & Website Optimization Support

  • Conduct keyword research for blog posts, landing pages, and social media content.

  • Assist in optimizing website content for SEO (meta descriptions, title tags, image alt text).

  • Help with technical SEO audits and reporting under guidance.

  • Support the digital marketing team in identifying opportunities to improve website visibility and ranking.

Campaign Support

  • Assist in preparing and executing digital marketing campaigns (email marketing, paid ads, etc.).

  • Track and report campaign performance metrics (click-through rates, conversions, etc.) using platforms like Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, or other marketing tools.

  • Help with A/B testing campaigns to improve performance.

Market Research & Competitor Analysis

  • Conduct research on industry trends, target audience behaviors, and competitor activity.

  • Create reports on competitor marketing strategies, including social media activity, SEO rankings, and paid ad performance.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Assist in gathering and compiling weekly or monthly reports on social media performance, website traffic, and ad campaign metrics.

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and present findings to senior team members.

  • Help analyze customer data and provide actionable insights based on trends.

Email Marketing Assistance

  • Helps design and create email campaigns using platforms like Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or Go High Level.

  • Segment email lists and personalize campaigns based on audience demographics or engagement history.

  • Monitor and report on email open rates, click-through rates, and conversions.

Collaboration with Other Teams

  • Coordinate with the design team to create visuals for campaigns/

  • Work with the content team to ensure consistency and alignment across platforms.

  • Assist in brainstorming sessions for new marketing strategies or content ideas.

Administrative & Project Management Tasks

  • Maintain digital marketing project calendars to ensure campaigns and deliverables are on schedule.

  • Assist in managing client meetings, preparing briefs, and taking notes.

  • Organize and update marketing assets (image libraries, content calendars, etc.).

Support with Paid Ad Campaigns

  • Assist in the setup and monitoring of Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and other paid media campaigns.

  • Help with basic ad copywriting and selecting visual assets for ads.

  • Track the performance of paid campaigns and compile reports on key metrics such as clicks, impressions, and conversions.

Influencer & Partnership Outreach

  • Research influencers and brand ambassadors who align with client goals.

  • Assist in reaching out to influencers for collaborations or partnerships.

  • Track and report on the success of influencer campaigns.

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.

  • Basic understanding of digital marketing principles.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).

  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
